Uniquely YOU

Uniquely YOUR Life

Obvious truths

I want to begin with some obvious truths -

Every human being is unique (including you and me).

We show up as a combination of our individual selves and the internalised impact of the people, situations and circumstances that have shaped us.

In addition, there are multiple perspectives within us that sometimes disagree with one another … you know, those arguments we have in our own minds - shall I? shan’t I? I should have! I shouldn’t have! I mustn’t but I want to …

And deep inside we carry our hidden aspirations, our painful wounds and our vulnerabilities.

Being human isn’t very easy!

How we’ve learned to be

Most of us have lived much of our lives according to what we’ve learned is the ‘right’ way to be, the right way to succeed, the right way to look, etc. - the safe way, the way to fix problems to feel better or avoid feeling vulnerable.

This works to a point but it can be stressful, exhausting and eventually unsustainable. And, many of the ways we wind down, get relief, relax may result in us feeling better in the moment but often do not last.

When it no longer works

For many of us there comes a time when we experience the painful tension between how we’ve done it in the past and what feels authentic and true now.

The shift to Self-Leadership

The shift from living ‘outside-in’ to living ‘inside-out’ requires courage and commitment, and can be uncomfortable.

But if we persist we will experience deep healing, reframing of out-of-date debilitating beliefs, more vitality and wellbeing.

Inside all of us is a source of wisdom, love, peace and energy.

But how can we change the way we’ve always done it? How can we access our inner resourcefulness? How can we heal our pasts?

This is where coaching / IFS therapy is super helpful.

Coaching / IFS therapy

helps us to clearly envision new possibilities, surface and reframe historic limiting beliefs, heal old wounds and access our inherent resourcefulness.

Some of the natural outcomes are

experiencing greater self-compassion, making wiser choices, growing mutually rewarding relationships, experiencing inner alignment and joy, expressing ourselves with greater confidence and clarity.

And it’s contagious!

When one person shows up as their courageous, compassionate, authentic self it seems that they naturally positively impact those around them - simply by their presence.

What if …?

I like to imagine that as we each bring our healed selves, our unique inner essence and authentic presence to our day-to-day interactions and actions we might, in a small way, send a healing ripple out into the wider world.

Sparking change

Perhaps we can spark a change for the better in the world by simply being uniquely, authentically us - together.
